3 Store Returns
Updated: Jan 16
I made a list of 100 things I should do that scare me. In 2020, I plan to complete all 100.
You know how people order things from an online store, sight unseen, saying that if it doesn’t work out, they’ll just return the item?
Not so much for me. I know I’ll just never make the return.
This isn’t so much a fear as something that makes me uncomfortable. I can’t put my finger on why, exactly—there’s just something mildly embarrassing about having to say, “I requested this, but I don’t like it, and now I want my money back.”
I know it would be more uncomfortable to do this in person than by mailing a package, but nothing I received for Christmas warranted a return. However, something I bought did—a game I didn’t realize we had.
I printed out the bar codes for the return, brought the box to an Amazon dropoff location in a Kohl’s store, and they scanned the bar codes and took the box. Literally the easiest thing ever.
I have no idea why this scared me (<-- a sentence I'm hoping I will have many more occasions to say this year). I’m downgrading this one from a level 2 to a level 1. Literally the worst part was when I was waiting in the wrong line and someone had to tell me where to go.
